At Lach Orthodontic Specialists, patient comfort and safety are our top priorities. That’s why our office uses a 3D Precision radiation-free lythos dental scanner. This scanner capture x-rays without the risk of radiation exposure and create accurate 3D models for treatment. This machine is safe, effective, and adds a technological edge to our practice.

Unlike other scanning methods, the 3D precision radiation-free lythos scanner is completely safe and extremely accurate. This scanner does not use standard x-ray technology, so you don’t have to worry about exposure to harmful radiation. This machine also eliminates the need for our practice to use uncomfortable impression trays filled with goopy material.
The 3D Precision radiation-free lythos scanner can capture the intricacies of your jaw and smile safely and accurately. In order to scan your mouth, a member of our trained medical staff will move the device’s wand along the surface of the teeth. A miniature high-resolution video camera inside the wand takes images of the area. As the device moves around your mouth, these images are compiled into a sophisticated, comprehensive model.
These scans can be used in conjunction with our other treatment planning methods, including our Computer Designed 3D Braces plan. Both of these methods allow Dr. Lach to create an accurate 3D model of your mouth and jaw that can then be used to simulate the effect of several different treatment methods on the shape of your jaw and the position of your teeth. This takes the guesswork out of orthodontic treatments, and ensures that you undergo only the best and most efficient correction route.
Outside of the realm of braces, this scanner also helps Dr. Lach create retainers, expanders, mouthguards, clear aligners, and nightguards that are specially tailored to the size and shape of your mouth.
The Precision 3D Digital Scanner is part of nearly all of the orthodontic treatments that we perform at Lach Orthodontic Specialists. We do this to ensure that treatments are consistent and optimized to the best of our ability.
If you’d like to begin orthodontic treatment at a practice that holds patient safety, comfort, and progress above all else, contact our Lake Nona or Oviedo offices today and schedule your complimentary consultation. We look forward to taking care of you and your orthodontic needs!
