Teeth whitening services in Florida
At Lach Orthodontic Specialists, we offer a number of smile enhancing procedures at our Lake Nona and Oviedo offices. That includes professional teeth whitening! If you have stained teeth and would like to swiftly enhance your smile, we are happy to help.
Why are my
teeth stained?
Over time, the outer layer of your teeth can begin to yellow as an effect of age and life habits like drinking coffee and smoking. Genetics can also play a role in the natural color of your teeth.
While there are over-the-counter treatments and toothpastes for treating yellow teeth, they don[t work nearly as well as professional whitening, and you may not achieve the results you are looking for. That’s why we recommend professional whitening treatment.
How does teeth
whitening treatment work?
Our in-house whitening treatment can be completed in a single office visit. We use a special professional-grade whitening solution to penetrate through the outer layers of your teeth and whiten them from the inside out.
Whitening treatment is safe when overseen by a professional, and we won’t need to remove any of your enamel to remove the staining. We will also cover your gums to ensure the whitening solution only works on the areas it’s supposed to.
After whitening, you should rinse your mouth to get rid of any excess solution that could irritate your gums. Your teeth may be sensitive for a couple days after treatment, and you should avoid staining foods (tomato sauce, coffee, tea) and acidic foods for the first few days.
How long does whitening treatment last?
The effects of whitening treatment will fade with time, but how long it takes largely depends on the teeth staining habits you partake in. Making sure to brush and floss your teeth regularly (especially if you are a smoker or coffee drinker) can help to extend your results.
Why in-office whitening treatment?
When you try to self-administer whitening treatment, it’s difficult to reach every nook and cranny of your smile. Our professionals are equipped with mouth mirrors and other visibility-enhancing tools that help to reveal all the stained areas, making sure nothing gets overlooked.
We can also use more efficient whitening treatment methods that are only cleared for professional use. This means we can get better results for you than you could with at-home treatment methods.
Am I a
candidate for teeth whitening
Most patients qualify for whitening treatment as long as they are healthy! We do require a consultation before any whitening treatment, however, so you can find out for sure at your appointment with us.
